Team Mangalore is a Hobby Group of Kite makers and Kite Flyers from the coastal town of Mangalore in Karnataka, formed  in 1998.
We are a group of like minded kite lovers. Having been fond of kites since childhood, we decided to add wings to our childhood dreams. Our ideas finally materialized in the form of kites that soared up the open skies. Making kites of unique designs, which depict the folklore and rich culture of India has been our main objective. 
Team Mangalore, a brain child of Mr.Sarvesh Rao, has as its members, people of determination, dedication and enthusiasm.

As a child,  kites fascinated him but he had no opportunity to fly them. A chance visit to the Kite Festival in Gujarath(1998), as a youth revived the lost passion. On his return back, he teamed up with a few like minded friends and formed Team Mangalore.

Giridhar Kamath
A Chartered Accountant by profession.  He is actively involved in numerous social work and  NGO activities.

A source of inspiration from the very beginning, Mr.Giridhar is the Chief Advisor of the Team.  He also takes care of Public Relations aspect of the Team
K.Prashanth Kumar
An Employee in the Maintenance Dept. of   ONGC-MRPL

He has been associated with 'Team Mangalore' from the time of inception. With his mechanical engineering background, he is instrumental in providing the technical know-how and design of all kites made by the Team.
Gurudath Bantwalkar
An advertising professional, Event Manager and Branch Head at Magnum Intergrafiks Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, a national advertising agency at their New Delhi Branch.

Responsible for planning and execution of Festivals, Devising Publicity Strategy for the Team in India and abroad.
Dinesh Holla
An Artist by profession. He is a man of few words and lots of action.

He is responsible for putting on paper, the design and art work, the colours of every kite at the initial "idea" stage.  It is his art work which gets translated into a kite using appropriate materials.
V.K.Sanil
An employee of KIOCL, Mangalore

An enthusiast who helps at every stage of kite making/flying with dedication.

Purushothama A

An employee of Kudremukh Iron Ore Comany.

A multifaceted personality. He has won medals in National level swimming competitions. A Nature lover, he has participated in Himalayan Trekking expeditions.

Girish Venkatraman
An surveyor by profession

A Multi talented personality, also vintage enthusiast. Although he joined the Team very recently, helps in every aspect whenever time permits.

Nitin J. Shetty
A Practicing Chartered Accountant, An active Rotarian, A leader in various fields Nitin developed interest in kite flying during his childwood days in North India.

A widly travelled globe trotter, he inspires the Team to attain greater Hights in the international Kiting Circles. He also takes care of Public Relations aspect of the Team



In addition to these team members, there are a number of persons who directly and indirectly assist us in our activities.  Prominent among them are the members of Youth Hostel Association of India, Mangalore, employees of Guru Winders and the family members of the Team.
