Our activities aim towards fulfillment of
the following Objectives of Team Mangalore:

To popularise kite flying as an
exciting outdoor activity among youngsters.

To bring out innovativeness and
spontaneity of the youth through the hobby of
making and flying kites.

To introduce love for Nature,
its beauty and utility among the younger generation.

To spread an awareness of
the rich cultural asset of India by designing kites
based on local folklore and mythology.

Our Team meets regularly during which we plan
and design our future kites. Our designs
are mainly based on local folklore and culture.
Our kites have been presented at State, National
and International Kite festivals and competitions.
To spread more knowledge about kite making
among the younger generation, our Team organize and
conduct

workshops at schools, clubs and other organizations.

competitions as a platform for recognition of talent
among budding kitists.

Kite Festivals where the local public can view
and appreciate the art of kite making.

Summer Camps on Kite Designing where the art of
making and flying kites are taught to budding kitists.

| Our Kite Festivals |

We have conducted Kite Festivals at Panambur
Beach, Mangalore, since the year 1998 (usually around
the last week of April). As part of these Festivals, we conduct competitions
under 4 categories which attract around 50 participants
each year.
An impressive crowd of more than 10,000 people
come to witness the event.
