International Kite Festivals at Portsmouth
and Bristol (Images)
TEAM MANGALORE has
successfully participated in the two International Kite
Festivals at United Kingdom during last week of August at Portsmouth and at Bristol in the first week of September 2005 and at
Cleethorpes in June 2007.
The traditional kites of Team Mangalore fascinated the people of U.K.
It has received a wide publicity in print and television media. Team
Mangalore was the only representative from India in these festivals.
Our Achievements at these two festivals :
- Team Mangalore won
the 'Best
International Kite' Award
in Cleethorpes,
UK in June 2007

the 'Best Team
Display' Award
(See Certificate) in
Portsmouth.
- Team Mangalore
kites appeared on the cover page of
kite Magazine in UK -"THE
KITE FLIER" in July 2005 issue.
- It has got
wide publicity in many news papers including a Report in BBC
on 3.9.2005.
- Photos of
Team Mangalore kites now appear in many websites of Europe.
Team
Mangalore was represented by Prashanth kumar, Sarvesh Rao and

Berck Sur-Mer Festival (Images)

Team Mangalore had
an eventful tour of France.
This is the team's maiden participation in the largest kite festival of
Europe, a ten day long festival at Berck Sur-Mer, France from 8th April to 18th April, 2005. Team
Mangalore was well appreciated by most of the 200 odd flyers from
across the Globe. The Kathakali
kite carved a niche
for itself, getting wide coverage in the media. The Team members
Sarvesh Rao, Prashanth (sponsored by ONGC-MRPL) and Purushothama won
over many hearts and have succeeded in their objective of spreading
Indian culture through kites. Glimpses
